This book captures what it is like to be a kid with illusions of grandeur who finds out what happens when dreams don't work out as planned. I enjoyed this book because it was unpredictable, with the kind of "cliffhanger" moments that left me eager to pick it back up the few times that I put it down. It reads like the best kind of comic book, but without the off-putting bombast that sometimes scares folks like me away from the genre. When this book ended, I felt eager to learn more about the life and times of Daniel Cotton in the next book. If there was ever a book that you could imagine being made into a blockbuster summer film, this book is it.Product details

The Boy Who Went Boom The Champions Book 1 eBook Michael Wardner Reviews
The book is okay. I was not very impressed by the ending. The plot twists at the end broke my suspension of disbelief. It wasn't that they were impossible within the world, but that they seemed to make people break character and ultimately I felt they failed to add anything to the story. Captain freedom would have made a different decision and so would the grandfather. The ultimate villain was like pulling a "the butler did it". Aside from the ending, I did enjoy the book.
The storyline was great as was the action. It was like reading an action-packed comic in novel form. The author did a great job of putting the reader into the world he created. It was very hard to put this one down. Really looking forward to reading more by this author.
Sort of a zig zag story line with minimal plot exposition, sort of dumped in the middle of the story. Characters not very well developed
I thought the plot was an interesting twist on the whole superhero thing. The writing is a bit erratic in a few places, but not enough to distract you. I'll be looking forward to the sequel.
While the writing and the story telling was decent I had a hard time accepting the world design and premise. I don't know if I will buy the next book by this author.
In the beginning, I had a little bit of trouble keeping all the characters and the different roles in this science fiction world straight. But about a quarter of the way through, once I got a better understanding of the characters, I really started to enjoy the story. I love the way the story unraveled and that it was not predictable at any point. In fact, while this is a story about the struggle between good and evil, what would be considered good at one moment in the book could be considered evil in the next moment. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.
what truly can devide good from evil when that line dissapears. i enjoyed this world and its secrets. there are so many, a lot like our own. can you really trust those in power? i really dont think so.
